We received some heads-up from one of our clients regarding a new potential collaboration for a specific type of project.
These are the details we have so far:
Language combination: Spanish (Latin America) <> Arabic (native)
Competencies:
• The linguist will need to compare source or target with their native language translations
• The linguist will need to perform ad-hoc tasks that have different scope.
• Good linguistic skills: The linguist needs to recognize linguistic issues, offensive or inappropriate language, and suggest corrections. Please note that offensive contents may be included (violent, sexual, discriminatory, etc.) as the content is user-generated and unfiltered.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions: The linguist might need to work on new types of ad-hoc tasks with specific instructions
• Proactive communication: As task types can vary, it is crucial that linguists communicate their questions and queries proactively
• Ability to work with Google Workspace environment: Most tasks are received in Google Sheets and Docs (we will offer guidance/instructions)
• Prior experience in MT-PE and QA tasks, knowledge of error typology frameworks (Google QF, MQM)
• Google environment and product knowledge
The linguists would have to be tested for EN-AR (we will pay for the test).
