Job Description:
We are building an English–Japanese patent translation team to support projects in the chemical and mechanical fields. Candidates must be native speakers of English or Japanese with extensive patent translation experience, capable of independently delivering high-quality translations.
Requirements:
Language Skills:
Native-level proficiency in English or Japanese, with fluent command of the other language.
Familiarity with patent terminology and style.
Professional Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of English–Japanese / Japanese–English patent translation experience (mandatory).
Tools:
Proficient in Trados or other computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools.
Able to handle patent formatting and layout requirements.
Work Style:
Freelancers preferred, capable of working independently according to project requirements.
Detail-oriented, reliable, able to meet deadlines, and maintain strict confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications (Bonus):
Experience translating patents in other industrial fields (e.g., electronics, materials).
Experience in quality control or proofreading.
