Voice Recording Project – English (US) Native Speakers with German Fluency
We are recruiting English (US) native speakers with strong fluency in German for a voice recording project supporting the development of speech technology.
*This is a data collection project geared towards AI training*
Project Description
– Participants will record short, natural bilingual conversations in pairs on everyday topics (e.g., shopping, travel, making plans).
– Two speakers per session
– Each conversation lasts 5 minutes
– One speaker speaks English only; the other speaks German only
– Light background noise (e.g., café or park) is acceptable
Tasks
– Complete a 30-minute paid training
– Participate in 8 recording sessions (5 minutes each)
– Use an online audio-only recording tool (similar to Zoom)
– Each session takes approximately 20 minutes including setup
– Total time commitment: approximately 3 hours
Requirements
– Native English (US) speaker
– Very good understanding and fluency in German
– Laptop and headset
Selection Process
– Interested candidates will be required to submit two 30-second audio samples through the client’s system (unpaid test; approx. 5 minutes).
Scheduling
– Training is planned for the coming weeks, with recordings starting shortly thereafter. Scheduling is flexible and agreed upon between paired participants.
