Langscape is undertaking a prestigious literary translation project involving two great epics — to be translated from English into the target language.
This is a highly literary and classical translation project. Only candidates with prior experience in book translation and literary translation, and who are capable of completing approximately 1,25,000 words within two months, should apply.
This is a government-supported project, and therefore quality is non-negotiable.
Strictly no machine translation is allowed. Any indication of MT usage will result in immediate disqualification.
The project requires two deliveries per week, so applicants must be able to manage this workflow consistently.
All translations will be reviewed and edited by the government’s advisory board, who will also be available to support translators with queries during the process.
Although the original texts are in Tamil, translators will be given with the English versions as the bridge text. The epics are also available in some other Indian languages, which you may refer to if helpful.
