About the Project
I’m launching the Scottish Cheese Academy – the first dedicated professional education programme for Scottish artisan cheese. As a judge at the World Cheese Awards, I’m building a comprehensive curriculum covering everything from foundation certificates to specialist qualifications and tourist experiences.
I’m looking for a skilled instructional designer or course developer to collaborate on a pilot project. This is a chance for us both to test working fit before committing to the full curriculum development.
Pilot Project Options (choose one or more):
Option A: “Focus on Flavour” Mini-Module – 2-3 hour self-paced online module exploring how raw materials, production, and maturation affect cheese flavour. Includes 20-question quiz and downloadable toolkit. Budget: £600–£1,200
Option B: “Scottish Cheese Heritage” Foundation Module – 1-2 hour module covering the history and regional diversity of Scottish cheesemaking. Needs both online and in-person versions. Budget: £500–£1,000
Option C: “Heritage Cheese Discovery” Tourist Experience Script – 2.5 hour facilitated tasting experience for tourists. Requires storytelling approach and facilitator script. Budget: £500–£1,000
Skills We’re Looking For:
Adult learning principles and instructional design methodology
Creating engaging digital learning content (slides, workbooks, assessments)
Clear, accessible writing style
Quiz and assessment design
Food, beverage, or craft industry experience (nice to have, not essential)
