Hiring Experienced Chuukese-English Interpreters – Remote OPI/VRI (Full-Time)

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Navajo Medical Interpreter to facilitate clear and accurate communication between healthcare providers and Navajo-speaking patients. This role is essential in ensuring culturally sensitive, confidential, and effective interpretation during medical consultations, hospital visits, and social services interactions. The ideal candidate will possess strong bilingual skills, medical terminology knowledge, and a commitment to patient advocacy and confidentiality. Responsibilities

Provide accurate oral and written interpretation between English-speaking healthcare professionals and Chuukese-speaking patients across medical settings.
Translate medical documents, patient records, and social service paperwork while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist with interpretation for hospital visits, medical procedures, child protective services cases, and social work consultations.
Ensure cultural sensitivity during interactions to promote trust and understanding between patients and providers.
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, supporting proper recordkeeping and compliance.
Support communication efforts related to hospital experience, medical records management, and social work services.
Maintain professionalism and adhere to confidentiality standards at all times.
Skills

Multilingual proficiency in Chuukese and English; .
Strong interpretation skills with experience in medical terminology and healthcare settings.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and compassionately.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security.
Experience with translation of medical documents, social work reports, or hospital records preferred.
Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as hospitals or clinics.
Bilingual capability combined with cultural competence to serve diverse patient populations.
Familiarity with child protective services procedures, hospital workflows, and social work documentation review is advantageous. This role is vital in bridging language barriers within healthcare environments while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
