Dear Linguist,
We are currently looking for qualified Romansh ↔ English translators for an ongoing project involving the translation and occasional editing of generic public media content (e.g., short Wikipedia-style texts). The client’s goal is to improve machine translation quality for under-supported languages.
Note: Romansh is a Rhaeto-Romance language spoken primarily in the Swiss canton of Graubünden (Grisons). It is one of Switzerland’s four national languages. Romansh has five main dialects and a standardized written form called “Rumantsch Grischun” created to help preserve it.
To be considered for this project, you must meet the following requirements:
Required Qualifications
• Degree in Translation or Linguistics (strongly preferred),
OR at least 3 years of translation experience in Romansh ↔ English
• Advanced English/source language proficiency (C1–C2 level)
• Academic or professional experience in an English-speaking country
• (Optional) Experience translating social media content
