We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable native English speaker to assist with English annotation and/or subtitling tasks for Japanese content. The ideal candidate is a native English speaker with strong command of Japanese language, a keen eye for detail, and experience working with subtitling or annotation tools preferred but not required.
In subtitle localization, an annotation task typically involves adding metadata or notes to the subtitle files to help with the translation and synchronization process. This can include marking specific timestamps, indicating speaker changes, or noting any cultural references that need special attention.
The goal is to ensure that the subtitles are not only linguistically accurate but also culturally relevant and synchronized with the audio and visual content. This helps in creating a seamless viewing experience for the audience.
Minimum requirements:
• Native English speaker with fluency in reading and understanding Japanese.
• Familiarity with annotation and subtitling tools (e.g., Subtitle Edit) is a plus.
• Ability to accurately convey the meaning, tone, and nuances of Japanese content in English.
• Tool required: Subtitle tool.
• Previous experience in subtitling, annotation preferred but not required.
• Freshers are also welcome to apply.
• Must be willing to complete a short trial test (unpaid).
