Spanish Translator

Job Summary – Why Are You Here:Translate, edit, copy-edit and proof marketing materials primarily from English to Spanish and, at times, from Spanish to English. Occasionally write bilingual marketing materials. Review, proofread and correct all materials and documents for spelling, typographical errors and grammar in English and Spanish, applying the corporate style guide to all written documents and spoken words.What You Will Be Doing:Translate from Spanish to English, and English to Spanish for bilingual and Spanish-only marketing materials.Convey the exact message when translated, particularly in relation to product claims and other copy that must adhere to strict legal and compliance standards.Copy edit marketing language, where latitude is allowable in the translation, so the essence of marketing messages are effectively communicated.Perform quality control of translations in Spanish from other translators (e.g., consultants, vendors) to ensure that linguistic and culturally appropriate materials are available to Limited English Proficiency (LEP) audiences.Cross-train in all areas of writing, including product, editorial and web.Ability to comprehend slang and colloquial expressions in the Spanish language and translate them to English, and standard Spanish.Self-directed and able to proactively solve problems.Maintain project timelines.Each employee is responsible for raising awareness of our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and should actively participate in activities and initiatives which are designed to have a positive impact on the environment and local communities.As an employee of a purpose-driven company, you are required to establish a goal relative to social and environmental impact.What You Need:Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in Communication, Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, or a related field10+ years of professional experience as a translator/proofreader, including experience in a company/organization. Fully computer literate, with Translation memory tools (Trados, Wordfast or Project Director)Fluency in Spanish and English (speaking, reading, writing, and grammar) requiredProven translation, editing and revising skillsAbility to write in plain language, using a conversational tone and common wordCommitment to model and live out Core Values (Accountability, Community, Innovation, and Courage) and a positive mindset are critical for success and should reflect in everything you do.The salary for this position is $70,000-$80,000/yr.Arbonne International is committed to employing a diverse workforce.
