Company DescriptionValdes Language Services, LLC is a local small business offering high-quality language services with the goal of bridging the language gap in San Diego.Role DescriptionThis is a freelance and independent contractor (W9) role located in San Diego, CA, with flexibility for some remote work (VRI and OPI). As an Interpreter and/or Translator, you will provide accurate interpretation and/or translation services for various client needs. You will work to ensure effective communication and cultural understanding.QualificationsNative fluency in Spanish and English (other languages and are welcomed, too)Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong knowledge of different cultures and customsAbility to maintain confidentiality and professionalism3+ years experience as an interpreter or translator is preferredRelevant certifications or degrees in interpretation or translationMedical and legal certifications is a plusHaving E&O insurance is preferredReferences are welcomedFOR TRANSLATORS: Experience using CAT tools is preferred FOR INTERPRETERS:Experience interpreting in San Diego courts is a plusExperience in conference interpreting is a plus
