Indicative rate: RMB 1,000–1,200 per day (subject to experience)

Role Overview

We are seeking a reliable Chinese–English interpreter to support a visiting legal team during meetings in Beijing. The role will involve consecutive interpretation during business meetings, as well as light logistical support to assist the team in navigating the local environment.

This is a practical, business-focused assignment rather than a specialist legal or technical interpreting role.

Key Responsibilities

Consecutive interpretation between Mandarin and English during meetings

Supporting informal discussions and day-to-day communications

Assisting with basic logistics, including directions, meeting coordination, and local navigation

Acting as a reliable local point of support throughout the visit

Essential Requirements

Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English

Based in Beijing and familiar with the city

Prior experience interpreting in business or professional settings

Professional, punctual, and discreet

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Desirable (but not required)

Experience supporting legal, corporate, or professional services teams

Familiarity with formal meeting environments

Previous experience supporting visiting international delegations

Technical or engineering background

Specialist courtroom or highly technical interpreting experience
