This is a translation in list form supposedly done by a human translator, although I have doubts. There are approx. 1700 short line items, presently in Word, preferably (actually definitely) to be delivered back Friday in Excel (English client Copy is available in Excel and in Word). The job is available immediately.
The job consists of 2 parts for 2 different related products but the terminology and entire line items are the same. It is quite technical (see sample) and requires keen attention, not something for a commercial, let alone literary translator. At this time, I will not have time to review your offer. Style is insignificant, as English copy demonstrates, precision everything. Please don’t offer at this time if you can’t meet the deadline. You can send your offer later but I can presently only deal with matching candidates and will ignore all others.
Ideally, you’ll have electrical/electronic engineering background. A glossary can be made available but has been prepared inhouse post-translation and was not related or available to the translator and is not directly related to this translation, so correct alternatives could survive your edits, as long as they are used consistently (but there is not much time for lengthy debates.) Should not be delivered in pdf. A Word copy showing Review changes would probably be quite useful.
The review will need some searching experience. As an example, there are line items somewhere with one measurement, say 2 inches as the sort word, and the same copy appears later with 2 1/2 inches, and the list was sorted by first word, including the measurements. You’ll have to develop or know some system to deal with this situation.
You have to check against the English copy to make sure nothing is omitted.
We’d appreciate having a cost estimate in advance for issuing a work order, payment within 30 days from your invoice or return of completed work order or both.
What appears to be redundancies after semicolons needs to be translated consistent with part before semicolon.
