Board game translation agency looking for new translators

We are a Belgium-based translation agency that specializes in board game translation. We need to expand our team with about 4-6 new translators, who will be trained by a linguistic lead in terms of style and jargon.

What are we looking for?

– English to Canadian French language combination.
– Your native language must be French (Canada).
– Close affinity with playing board games (ideally!) or already prior experience translating video games (at the very least). Tell us why you are the ideal candidate!
– You must be a full-time freelancer with ample availability (able to translate at least 5k words a week), also on short notice!
– You must have full availability for the next few months.
– You must be comfortable with our rates (see rates section).
– You must do your best to answer all of the questions mentioned below in your application! Don’t bother sending in a copy-pasted application: it will not be considered.

In your application, please answer the following questions:

– Have you translated or proofread any board games before? If so, which ones?
– What’s your background as a board game player?
– Do you play a lot of games, and if so which ones are your favorites and why?
– Do you visit board game clubs or conventions?

Tell us a captivating story about yourself, and make it geeky! Please note: we are specifically asking about your background as a BOARD game player, not a video game player.

IMPORTANT FINAL NOTES

We can’t stress this enough: before submitting your application, please take the time to thoroughly read the job post and answer the questions that were asked in it! Copy-pasted applications will NOT receive a reply. This is not a race. If you can’t even take the time to read our job post, it doesn’t inspire us with confidence that you will be the right candidate for the job.

Thanks in advance for your understanding!
