About the Role
We are hiring experienced Korean-English medical interpreters for a full-time, remote position. This role involves providing over-the-phone medical interpretation (OPI) to support clinical interactions such as consultations, follow-ups, and urgent care communications. We’re looking for dedicated professionals with a strong commitment to accuracy, ethics, and cultural sensitivity.
Responsibilities
Accurately interpret conversations between korean-speaking patients and English-speaking healthcare providers
Ensure confidentiality, neutrality, and professionalism at all times
Use appropriate medical terminology and remain informed on healthcare procedures
Comply with HIPAA and the Interpreter Code of Ethics
Handle calls calmly and efficiently across various medical contexts
Maintain availability during scheduled shifts and participate in coaching or QA sessions as needed
Qualifications
Native or near-native fluency in Korean and English
Minimum 1 year of professional medical interpreting experience (OPI or VRI preferred)
Strong understanding of medical vocabulary, interpreter standards, and confidentiality practices
High school diploma or equivalent (college education is a plus)
Excellent active listening, memory, and note-taking skills
Must pass a language proficiency test and background check
Remote Work Requirements
Wired Ethernet connection (Wi-Fi is not permitted)
Minimum 10 Mbps internet speed (download/upload)
Computer/laptop with: Wired USB noise-cancelling headset
Quiet, professional home work environment
