Translation Project Manager & Spanish-English Translator

OverviewThe Translation Project Manager and Spanish-English Translator is responsible for processing translation requests made by Seneca staff members , as well as translating , reviewing , formatting , and delivering documents completed by our internal Spanish-English translation team . Our programs deeply engage in conversations and training on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to bring equity and justice to the youth and families we serve.Responsibilities Translation Pro ject Manager Responsibilities Oversee Seneca’s internal and external translation requests. Manage the agency-wide translation request email account by processing requests and delivering completed documents to staff who request translation services. Manage the lifecycle of translation requests from request to delivery (set up and track Spanish-English projects in MemoQ: perform final reviews/quality assurance of completed translations, formatting/DTP). Make, manage, and deliver external translation requests to partner language service providers for languages other than Spanish (manage communication with external translation providers and deliver completed translations to our staff). Serve as a member of the Language Services team and participate in team meetings. Spanish -English Translator Responsibilities Translate documents from English > Spanish and occasionally from Spanish > English Perform meticulous quality assurance final reviews of completed documents Demonstrate professional behavior at all times in accordance with Seneca’s mission and philosophy. All other duties as assigned by program, region, and agency leadership. Required Qualifications Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree AND/OR Translator certificate/education American Translators Association Certification required English to Spanish, Spanish to English certified a bonus Full professional proficiency of both Spanish and English Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply translation methodology , theory, ethics and standards Excellent Spanish and English writing and comprehension skills, as well as knowledge and mastery of grammar style and language norms in both languages. DTP experience (Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, Canva, etc.). Proficient in computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools At least 21 years of age TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination Preferred Previous work experience in the mental health field. Master’s degree in Translation /Project Management 5+ years of professional translation /project management experience Knowledge of MemoQ Previous medical translation experience Skills Of An Ideal Candidate Strong organizational, communication, and interpretor skills.
