This project involves developing a comprehensive safety statement and risk assessment template for a Irish automation and electrical controls company. The company provides various electrical and engineering services such as repairing, maintaining and upgrading machinery for other businesses.
The safety statement needs to clearly outline the company’s health and safety policies and objectives. It must establish how hazards will be identified and risks assessed and controlled. Procedures for incident reporting, emergencies, training needs and reviews should also be included.
The risk assessment template should allow systematic identification, evaluation and control of risks associated with all activities. Hazards linked to tasks such as installation, repairs, equipment use and more need consideration. Likelihood and potential severity of each hazard must be rated. Control measures to eliminate or minimize risks instigated.
Both documents require formatting and language appropriate for an Irish workplace.
All relevant legislation and standards like Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 must be adhered to. Documents need to be written in clear, concise language and follow a logical structure for easy understanding and future use
