LSI needs creative, analytically minded linguists to support clients who have purchased its AI-powered semantic search tool.
Linguists LSI engages will be asked to build and fine-tune foreign-language semantic queries that the tool will then use to filter content, per each client’s specification.
Training on LSI’s software will be provided.
Required Qualifications:
– Native fluency in Russian, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Farsi, Arabic or Spanish
– Experience and confidence learning how to use new and unfamiliar software from scratch: you’ll quickly be learning an entirely new tool with a wide array of capabilities and functions
– Logical thinking and problem-solving: ability to abstract complex queries and map to efficient, precise semantic queries
– Domain-specific knowledge: expertise in specific industries applicable to each client (e.g. legal, medical, financials), and understanding of terminology and key concerns within the desired domain(s).
Desirable Qualifications:
– Experience with data annotation workflows and training AI-based tools
Professional experience testing search technology, or using Boolean or semantic search engines to build complex searches
– Experience with any linguistic data research role, including development of natural language guidelines and semantic frameworks
– Experience with linguistic consulting projects that go beyond simple translation of text
Place of Performance:
This role is entirely remote. Linguists based within the US are strongly preferred.
