Bookkeeper to help with data entry, reconciliation, and tax prep

We’re looking for someone competent in bookkeeping and data entry to do general bookkeeping tasks, invoice creation, bill entry and reconciliation for several small businesses. Our books need brought current and reconciled, some manual data entry will be necessary as well as importing of transactions. . Additionally, this position will require some sorting of electronic documents (receipts, checks, bills, invoices, packing lists, etc) . This should be considered a temporary, part time position that will last 1-2 months, with the potential to transition into a long term position. Must be familiar with Quickbooks online and Google Drive / Google Docs.

Job Responsibilities include:

-Maintaining records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance.

-Ability to categorize financial transactions into categories by accounts.

-Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.

-Maintains historical records by filing documents.

-Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

-Runs reports required to file state sales tax

-Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications /Skills:

-Basic general accounting knowledge

-Prior experience maintaining books

-Data entry skills

-Attention to detail

-Good organizational skills

-Familiarity with Quickbooks Online
